The single-shaft shredders of the ZTS/ZTTS series have been specifically developed for the shredding of whole or pre-shredded tires. Both ZTS and ZTTS shredders feature a large rotor diameter of 760 mm and working widths ranging from 1,500 to 3,000 mm. Both types come equipped with oversized, external bearings and dual drives. The tangential infeed ensures optimal feeding of input material without the need for an additional hydraulic pusher. All tire shredders are fitted with special wear protection in all relevant machine areas. The main differences between ZTS and ZTTS models are the number of stator knife rows and the type of screen perforation used.

Machines of the ZTS series feature a single stator knife row and are therefore utilized for the first stage of pre-shredding car tires or other large, solid pieces to a final particle size of approximately 150 mm. For the second stage, a ZTTS shredder is used to further reduce the material to about 20 mm. The intelligent machine design, combined with the adjustable knife clearance, enables optimal separation of rubber and steel fractions. In an additional step, the steel content can be separated using a powerful magnetic separator.
