Description

The Horizon BQ-470, manufactured in 2008 with serial number 318004, is a four-clamp perfect binder designed for professional book production. With a maximum book format of 320 x 320 mm and a thickness range from 1 to 65 mm, it offers flexibility for a wide variety of binding applications. Currently located in a printshop in Germany, the machine combines automation, precision, and reliability to deliver consistent results.



This binder is equipped with EVA hotmelt side gluing and a PUR glue plant, allowing the use of both EVA and PUR adhesives. The heating system is adjustable from 100 to 200 ??C, with adhesive temperatures of 120 ??C for EVA and up to 130 ??C for PUR. The machine requires a 400 V power connection, with a consumption of 4.8 kW for the binder and 4.4 kW for the melt unit, and operates with a compressed air supply of 6 bar.



Performance highlights include a maximum output of 1,000 cycles per hour, a heating time of approximately 50 minutes, and an envelope feeder with suction drum capable of handling a loading capacity of 150 mm. It supports cover sizes from 135 x 225 mm up to 320 x 660 mm, with cover thicknesses ranging from 90 g/qm2 to 300 g/qm2. Additional features include 4-way positive/negative creasing (with optional 2-way creasing) and robust construction with a total weight of 2,170 kg plus 150 kg for the melt unit.
