Intended Use of the Machine

The stretch banding machines in the SKINETTA series are designed for tightly wrapping individual or multiple products with polyethylene film. In contrast to shrink-wrapping machines, the film is pulled tightly around the package before sealing. This tightening is the main advantage of this process, reducing film consumption by up to 20%.

A particular advantage of the patented SKINETTA sealing system is the stepless, precise metering.

The film is sealed (welded) in a very small area, creating a clean seal with minimal overhang. By using a SKINETTAther or SKINETTAshrink hot air hood and a sufficiently wide film, the protruding film overhang can be reduced laterally. This increases the stability of the container and prevents individual products from falling out sideways in correspondingly grouped containers. With suitable additional devices, a complete closure of the containers is possible by sealing, crimping, and folding the film laterally.

The SKINETTA stretch banding machine program includes six basic models for film widths from 25 mm to 200, 290, 440, 590, 790, and 1250 mm. To increase output, two- to four-lane systems are available in addition to the single-lane version. - With the SK series (semi-automatic), the products are grouped on the machine table by an operator. Insertion into the film and the subsequent stretch banding process is triggered either by a foot switch or a two-hand control. Full automation is possible at a later date (except for the SK 200 model). - With the ASK series (fully automatic), the products are fed, grouped, and then banded fully automatically using appropriate additional equipment.
